O’Neal, the former NBA superstar, has become the driving force behind the project, which aims to create a dedicated platform for professional dunkers and offer a fresh alternative to traditional dunk competitions. The first season of Dunkman generated significant attention online, with the league attracting hundreds of millions of views across digital platforms.
Its popularity has helped establish dunking as a standalone entertainment format beyond the NBA’s traditional Slam Dunk Contest. The inaugural Dunkman competition culminated in a World Championship featuring some of the sport’s top dunkers. The championship offered a $500,000 grand prize, adding a significant financial incentive to the competition.
