Azhar had reportedly remained in hiding for nearly three years and was wanted by police in several cases registered in Lahore and other cities. A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi issued notices to the police after hearing a petition filed by Azhar’s mother, Ishrat Azhar, and his wife.
The petition requested the court to allow Hammad Azhar’s family members and legal counsel to meet him. Read More:Hammad Azhar sent on 20-day physical remand in Jinnah House attack case. The court has sought a reply from the police and adjourned further proceedings until September 28.
Hammad Azhar was arrested in Multan a few days ago and was handed over to Lahore Police. Lahore Police formally recorded his arrest in the May 9-related cases.
