KKARACHI —The term of the judicial commission formed by the Sindh government to conduct an impartial and transparent investigation into the murder of Mir Raza Ali has expired., the Sindh Home Department has yet to decide on extending the commission’s term.
The commission had requested an extension until October 15 to complete statements of witnesses and prepare its report. The notification for the formation of the judicial commission was issued on August 24, while the commission began proceedings on August 27.
The Sindh Home Department had directed it to complete the proceedings within one month. Sources said the commission has summoned two witnesses today for further proceedings. However, the recording of their statements could be affected if the notification for extending the commission’s term is not issued.
