Federal cabinet meets today as major decisions expected on KP situation

The meeting, chaired by the prime minister, will be attended by federal ministers and review the deteriorating law and order situation and rising incidents of terrorism in the province., the cabinet will examine the growing security challenges, terrorist attacks and administrative situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Special reports from police and intelligence agencies regarding the province's situation are also expected to be presented to the prime minister and the federal cabinet. The agenda will include key matters concerning the restoration of peace and stability and governance in the province, sources said.
They added that major constitutional and administrative decisions regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were expected during the meeting. The development comes a day after President Asif Ali Zardari met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the country's overall political and security situation., an understanding was reached during the meeting on the possible imposition of governor's rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Separate sessions of the National Assembly and Senate have also been summoned for October 13, sources said.
