QQUETTA —The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 across the province for 30 days, citing security concerns and the need to maintain law and order., adviser to the Home Department, the restrictions will take effect from September 23, 2026, and remain in force for 30 days.
Under Section 144, the display and public exhibition of all kinds of weapons at public places have been banned across the province. Yousafzai said gatherings of five or more people at public places, sit-ins, rallies, protests and other similar activities would also be prohibited.
The provincial government has also imposed a ban on covering one’s face, wearing a veil or using any other means at public places that could obstruct the identification of an individual. The government has directed all law enforcement agencies and district administrations to ensure strict implementation of Section 144 across Balochistan.
