    The negotiators from the government and the opposition have signed the much-awaited draft after they finalised it in a huddle held to ease political tensions amid the PTI planned long march on Islamabad on Sunday today, Dunya News has learnt. The government and the opposition discussed ways and thorny issues in the meeting which lasted several hours.

    Both parties held consultations and debates with their respective stakeholders and leaders to reach the final draft. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq played a phenomenal role in finalizing the draft.

    Earlier, it was reported that the federal government and opposition have made progress in negotiations aimed at easing political tensions, with a joint declaration prepared following the second round of talks in Islamabad on Saturday.

Saturday’s meeting initially witnessed disagreements over public statements by political leaders and the opposition’s plans for the march, but the discussions subsequently made progress, with the negotiations.

    A written agreement was also reported to be under preparation.
