IISLAMABAD —The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) Fact Checker has clarified that a notification circulating on social media claiming changes to the working days of the Government of Pakistan is fake., the purported notification falsely claims that a four-day working week has been introduced, with Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday designated as working days and Friday, Saturday and Sunday as off days.
The fake notification, dated September 16, 2026, has been attributed to the Cabinet Division and refers to an earlier notification allegedly issued on September 15. The MOIB Fact Checker urged the public not to believe or share the misleading notification and advised citizens to rely on official government channels for authentic notifications and announcements.
The public was also advised to verify information circulating on social media through official sources before sharing it. The Cabinet Division maintains an official notifications page for government orders and announcements.
