KKARACHI —The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspect during a crackdown on illegal hawala-hundi operations in Karachi, recovering foreign currencies, Pakistani rupees and mobile phones containing potentially significant evidence., a team from the agency's CBC Karachi unit carried out the operation as part of efforts to curb illegal money transfer and currency exchange activities.
During the raid, officials recovered mobile phones allegedly containing evidence linked to hawala-hundi transactions and unauthorised currency exchange operations. The FIA spokesperson further stated that foreign currencies worth millions of rupees, along with Pakistani currency, were seized during the operation.
