Solider martyred, 19 Indian-sponsored terrorists killed in separate Balochistan operations

The security forces began the clearance operation in the general area of Shaban on 21 September after intelligence agencies reported the presence of multiple hideouts linked to Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan. The groups were reported to be posing a threat to the local population.

During the ongoing operation, security forces engaged and cleared multiple terrorist hideouts following an intense exchange of fire. The ISPR said 13 Indian-sponsored terrorists have been killed so far. Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the cleared hideouts.

The clearance operation is continuing until the complete neutralisation of the threat in the area. The operation forms part of efforts to secure the local population and remove militant infrastructure identified through intelligence reports. In separate engagements on 22 and 23 September, security forces conducted pre-emptive intelligence-based operations in District Kech and District Quetta West.

Troops engaged the terrorists during the operations, resulting in the deaths of six terrorists following intense exchanges of fire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the areas where the engagements took place. During one of the exchanges, Subedar Muhammad Jamil, 39, from Taunsa Sharif in District Dera Ghazi Khan, was killed while performing his duties.

The ISPR described him as a “son of the soil” who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. The ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain engaged in operations against what the ISPR described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
