Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the new prequel will come from Shondaland. Shonda Rhimes will write, executive produce and co-showrun the series alongside Nicholas Nardini, who previously worked with her on. Queen Charlotte.

According to. Deadline, discussions about another Bridgerton prequel began after the successful launch of Queen Charlotte in May 2023. The series introduced younger versions of Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury and Violet, making them potential candidates for future spinoffs.
The new Violet-focused project follows continued expansion of the Bridgerton universe. Seasons 1 and 3 remain among Netflix’s most popular English-language series, while Season 5 is currently in production in London. The fifth season will focus on Francesca Bridgerton, played by Hannah Dodd, and Michaela Stirling, played by Masali Baduza.
Netflix has also built a dedicated studio for Shondaland productions in the UK.
