WWASHINGTON —A young man in the US state of Colorado has found a unique way to propose to his girlfriend by collecting gold himself over several months and having it turned into a custom-made engagement ring.
Colorado resident Jack Wilkany decided to make the occasion special for his girlfriend, Joanne, by using gold he had personally collected rather than purchasing a ready-made engagement ring. To fulfil his plan, Jack spent several months searching for gold flakes in different rivers across Colorado.
After persistent efforts, he managed to collect a sufficient quantity of gold and handed it over to local jeweller Zach Allen, who melted the precious metal and crafted it into a beautiful engagement ring., the project was a unique experience because the gold used to make the ring had been personally collected by Jack.

Once the ring was ready, Jack took his girlfriend, Joanne, on a hiking trip. During the outing, he showed her a video on his mobile phone documenting his gold-searching efforts. Initially, Joanne could not understand the significance of what she was watching.
However, when she learned that Jack had spent several months collecting gold specifically to have an engagement ring made for her, she became emotional and was moved to tears. Jack said his aim was to make the special day memorable for his girlfriend.
His thoughtful gesture transformed the engagement ring from an ordinary piece of jewellery into a symbol of love, dedication and sincerity.
