Fuel relief deal reached with petroleum dealers

The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) said talks with the government were successful and a notification outlining the payment mechanism would be issued soon. Under the agreement, relief package payments will be transferred to petroleum dealers’ bank accounts through the State Bank within 48 hours., the government will soon issue the notification detailing the payment procedure.
The petroleum minister also assured stakeholders that consultation with them would be further improved in future. The agreement paved the way for implementation of the fuel relief package and ended a deadlock that had continued for several days.
The meeting was attended by PPDA leaders Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Tariq Hassan, Anwar Kamal and Malik Sher Khan. PPDA Sindh President Ameer Khan participated via Zoom, while PPDA Punjab Vice Chairman Raja Wasim also attended.
