LLAHORE —The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally launched an inquiry into media reports concerning the discipline and conduct of players, saying the matter is being reviewed under the board’s rules and regulations., all relevant individuals will be given a full opportunity to present their positions during the inquiry.
The board has also urged the public not to consider speculation circulating on some platforms as credible. The PCB said it would not comment further at this stage on unverified reports and information regarding the matter.
Sources said the inquiry concerns the decision to send players back after the Lord’s Test as well as alleged disciplinary violations. The inquiry also includes the matter of players’ mobile phones being taken into custody.

It is pertinent to mention that after Pakistan lost the first two Test matches against England, the PCB made major changes to the national Test squad, sending several players back home and releasing the coaches from the team.
The board said no further comment would be made on the matter at this stage and advised relevant circles and the public to rely only on official PCB statements for information.
