A total 15,244 candidates had registered for the general group examinations, of whom 14,260 appeared while 1,984 remained absent. In the regular general group, 10,064 candidates registered, 9,530 appeared and 534 remained absent.
Of those who appeared, 3,487 passed all seven papers, 2,088 passed six papers, 1,335 passed five, 902 passed four, 673 passed three, 450 passed two and 309 passed one paper. The overall pass rate was 36.59 per cent.
In the private general group, 5,180 candidates registered, 4,730 appeared and 450 remained absent. Among those who appeared, 1,688 passed all seven papers, 1,279 passed six, 596 passed five, 388 passed four, 254 passed three, 202 passed two and 183 passed one paper.

The overall pass rate for the private general group was 35.69 per cent, while the combined pass rate for regular and private General Group candidates stood at 36.29 per cent.
