Senate Standing Committee rejects PIMS fire probe report

During the committee meeting, Senator Samina Mumtaz directed the police to register an FIR without delay. She questioned the omission of the former Executive Director (ED) of PIMS from the report and demanded that those allegedly responsible be brought before the law.
The committee said the existing report was incomplete and ordered a re-inquiry into the incident. It also called for a forensic examination and DNA tests to establish the facts surrounding the tragedy. Read More:PM Shehbaz directs PIMS to improve fire safety, systems within three months.
Meanwhile, the federal police report on the PIMS incident has been completed for use in criminal proceedings., a fire was reported in the hospital's emergency room through wireless control. When ASI Muhammad Arif reached the scene, rescue and emergency operations were already underway.

The incident resulted in the deaths of 14 children in the children's emergency area of the gynecological ward at PIMS.
