KAKAMIGAHARA, JAPAN (Web Desk) — Pakistan secured a place in the men's hockey semi-finals at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating Oman 7-2 in their final Pool B match on Monday. Pakistan dominated the match at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium, with Rana Waheed Ashraf scoring a hat-trick.
He found the net in the 34th, 44th and 59th minutes. Sufyan Khan scored twice from penalty corners, while Ghazanfar Ali and Muhammad Ammad also got on the scoresheet for Pakistan. Oman's goals came from Al Baraa Al Nofli and Aiman Madit.
Sufyan opened Pakistan's account in the 22nd minute and doubled the lead six minutes later. Waheed then scored in the 34th minute before Ghazanfar extended Pakistan's advantage in the 40th. Waheed added his second four minutes later, while Ammad scored in the 46th minute.

The forward completed his hat-trick in the 59th minute to complete Pakistan's seven-goal tally. The victory followed Pakistan's earlier wins over Thailand, Uzbekistan and China, while their only Pool B defeat came against Malaysia, who beat Pakistan 5-4 on Sept. 26.
Pakistan therefore finished second in Pool B behind Malaysia. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the semi-finals, with the last-four matches scheduled for Oct. 1.
