PM Shehbaz announces Rs100 per litre petrol subsidy for bikes, small cars amid rising oil prices

Taking immediate notice of the additional financial burden on consumers, the prime minister said the government was fully aware of the difficulties caused by the increase in oil prices and would not leave the people alone in this challenging situation.
In a statement issued on Sunday, PM Shehbaz said the special scheme would provide relief to users of motorcycles, rickshaws and small cars to help offset the impact of higher petrol prices. Under the scheme, eligible users will receive Rs100-per-litre subsidy on petrol.
Motorcycle, rickshaw and other two- and three-wheeler users will be entitled to relief on up to 20 litres of petrol per month, at Rs100 per litre. Also Read:Govt considers Rs2,000 monthly fuel relief for motorcyclists.

Owners of small cars with engine capacities of up to 800cc will receive the same Rs100-per-litre relief on up to 30 litres of petrol per month.
The prime minister said the scheme would be implemented in Islamabad from the night between Monday and Tuesday, while it would be rolled out across Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan from the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
Registration for the special petrol relief scheme has begun, Shehbaz said, adding that the public would be provided with details about the registration procedure through an awareness campaign. The prime minister also thanked the provincial governments for their cooperation in providing information about motorcycles, rickshaws and small vehicles and in facilitating the registration process.
