Malaysia made an aggressive start, taking a 2-0 lead through a field goal by Adam Johari in the 11th minute and a penalty-corner goal by Fahmi Suzaimi in the 13th minute. Pakistan, however, responded with an excellent strategy and strong performance to turn the match around.
Rana Abdul Sami was the star for Pakistan, scoring field goals in the 34th and 47th minutes to level the score at 2-2. Muhammad Shahier then converted a penalty corner in the 52nd minute to put Pakistan 3-2 ahead.
In the 56th minute, Waleed Rana scored from a penalty stroke to seal Pakistan’s 4-2 victory. Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani congratulated the national junior team and officials on the victory and their bronze-medal achievement.
