Sources said the PCB sent six players to England without consulting the selection committee, a move that reportedly left Misbah dissatisfied with the board’s approach. The former captain was unhappy that the selection committee was not taken into confidence before decisions were made regarding the players being sent to England.
His resignation is being viewed as a consequence of growing differences over the selection process and the lack of consultation between the PCB and members of the selection committee. Misbah, one of Pakistan’s most prominent Test captains and former players, had been serving as a member of the national selection committee.
The latest development comes as the PCB prepares for Pakistan’s upcoming international commitments, with the selection and management of the national squad remaining a key area of focus for the board.
