Addressing a ceremony at the Balochistan High Court, Justice Yahya Afridi said the judicial system must be centered on citizens’ needs rather than merely on courts and institutions. He said litigants should not face unnecessary difficulties when approaching judicial institutions to seek justice, stressing the need to make the process more accessible and efficient.
The chief justice said technology was a means, while justice remained the ultimate objective. He emphasized that technology should be used in the judicial system to facilitate and improve the delivery of justice. Justice Yahya Afridi said all relevant stakeholders would have to work together to implement meaningful judicial reforms, reiterating that such reforms could not succeed without mutual cooperation between judges and lawyers. He also acknowledged the challenges faced in providing justice in remote areas of Balochistan, including limited resources and security concerns.
