Murad Ali Shah stresses industrialists' role in economic growth

Murad Ali Shah said the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges and other infrastructure in Korangi’s industrial areas reflected the provincial government’s efforts to improve facilities for industries. He said the government had also established a school for children with autism in Korangi and would soon provide a snorkel to KATI.

He added that work on the Yellow Line project would be carried out in consultation with representatives of the industrial community. The chief minister said the Sindh government had taken several measures to improve law and order in Korangi in consultation with industrialists.

Referring to the security situation in the Katcha areas, he said the issue had been a major concern for the provincial government, but peace had eventually been restored. Murad Ali Shah also assured the industrial community that the water shortage affecting the Korangi industrial area would be addressed soon.

He said the Sindh government had allocated Rs2 billion to KATI for the construction and improvement of roads. However, he noted that despite the funds being provided around six months earlier, development work had yet to begin, while the Sindh government was often accused of being slow in completing projects.

The chief minister congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of KATI and expressed hope that they would continue working with the provincial government to address issues faced by the industrial sector.

Murad Ali Shah advised industrialists to focus on their core role in promoting investment, production and economic activity, saying that politics should be left to politicians while the business community should concentrate on industrial development.
