Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, Tarar said governor’s rule or an emergency could be imposed if the constitutional conditions and circumstances warrant such action. He stressed that any such step would have to be taken within the framework provided by the Constitution.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, speaking in a private television programme, questioned why discussions about emergency measures and Governor’s Rule had recently gained prominence.
Kundi pointed to recent security incidents in the province, saying a suicide attack had occurred in Dera Ismail Khan two days earlier, while three traffic police officials were martyred in Tank on the same day.

He also referred to governance and corruption-related concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting that the federal law minister had indicated that Governor’s Rule could be imposed if the constitutional requirements were fulfilled. The statements come as security and governance issues in the province remain the subject of political discussion.
