The governor said he had no objection to peaceful protests but stressed that chaos in the name of protests would not be tolerated. He added that he was fully aware of his constitutional responsibilities and powers., the Constitution allows the governor to call meetings to discuss provincial affairs and the law-and-order situation.
He said the purpose of his recent meeting was to assess and understand the situation in the province. The governor also denied directing the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to make any transfers or postings.
He further said he had not sought funds from the Chief Secretary. Responding to the provincial government’s claim that the meeting was unconstitutional, Kundi maintained that he was fully aware of his constitutional role and had acted within his powers.

He reiterated that while peaceful political activity was a democratic right, disorder and violence could not be allowed under the guise of protest.
