    Sources said the government had made it clear that protests and unrest would not lead to concessions, adding that any demand for concessions would require seriousness from the opposition. The sources further said that if the opposition maintained its stance, the government could consider invoking Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution.

    The first round of talks between the government and opposition witnessed several tense moments, with heated exchanges reported between the two sides., the government negotiating team made it clear that it would not allow any march towards Islamabad under any circumstances. During the talks, the government formally asked the opposition to postpone or call off its proposed long march.

    The government team also assured the opposition that it would ensure implementation of the relevant court decision.
