The streamer, whose real name is Imane Anys, shared the news during a Twitch livestream on September 28 before posting a tribute on X.She abruptly ended her Valorant stream after learning that Mimi had been taken to an emergency room. She later returned to Twitch and became emotional while explaining what had happened.
Pokimane suddenly rushed off camera and abruptly ended the stream, leaving viewers concerned. She later grew emotional and cried on stream as she revealed that her cat Mimi, whom she had had for 8 years, had jumped from the balcony and died 💔pic.twitter.com/q8TYRh4f.

Pokimane later learned from a doctor that Mimi had not survived. “Apparently the cleaners opened the balcony, I don't know why cause we don't usually clean the balcony, and she went on the balcony..and she jumped..
I went to the ER.. I…”While discussing Mimi on stream, Pokimane struggled to contain her emotions. “I can't believe my baby is gone,” she said.
She also added, “It was my baby,” while remembering the cat, who had been part of her life for eight years. Pokimane later addressed the incident on X, apologising for leaving her stream abruptly and explaining that she had been notified Mimi was in the ER.
She wrote, “I love you forever mimi.”Fellow streamer Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter also responded to the post, writing, “Noooo I'm so sorry Imane.. rest in peace Mimi.”Pokimane clarified that she did not blame anyone. "As heartbroken as I am, I dont want to blame anyone.
This was a heartbreaking freak accident", she emphasised.
