    Suspect Jawad Ali was produced before a court, which sent him to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand. Police said the accused was a property dealer and that further investigation was under way. (FIR No 18/26) registered at the Women Police Station, Rawalpindi, Maliha alleged that her husband had subjected her to domestic violence for several months.

    She said she had remained silent in the hope of saving her marriage and family, but his alleged behaviour had become increasingly violent and dangerous. FIR, Jawad allegedly assaulted her on the evening of October 2, took away her mobile phone and locked her in a room.

    She alleged that she was prevented from leaving, contacting her family, meeting her children or seeking police assistance. The FIR states that the alleged assault, threats and confinement continued from the night of October 2 until October 3.
