LLAHORE —Former captain Mohammad Yousuf has advised star batter Babar Azam to seek specialist coaching in England or Australia, given his recent form and technical flaws. The recently concluded ODI tri-series, featuring Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka, was disappointing for Babar.
Across five matches, he scored just 118 runs at an average of 23.60 and a strike rate of 74.21, without making a single half-century. His individual scores in the tournament were 45, 34, 10 and 29, while in the final against Sri Lanka he was dismissed for a duck.
Writing on X, Yousuf said Babar should not play first-class cricket until he has fixed his technical problems through specialist coaching. He said that struggling in domestic cricket could further damage Babar's confidence and career.

He urged that Babar be sent to an academy in England or Australia, adding that he is still Pakistan's best player and, with proper guidance and a little effort, can return to his best form.
The former cricketer added that he had made the same point four years ago, but no one listened, and he asked that people please listen now.
