Speaking on a TV programme, Afridi said the PCB should have waited until the Test series was completed before making major decisions. He said the board’s actions had damaged Pakistan cricket’s image and described the situation as embarrassing.
Afridi also questioned the composition of the squad selected for the third Test, arguing that several players brought into the team were more suited to T20 cricket., the biggest issue facing Pakistan cricket is a lack of consistency in decision-making, with selections and appointments not always appearing to be based on merit.
Afridi also urged PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to give greater attention to cricket-related matters and ensure that key responsibilities are handled through a clear and transparent process.

He further questioned the appointment of Sarfaraz Ahmed as head coach, pointing out that Sarfaraz moved into the role only a few months after joining the PCB.Afridi asked what process had been followed to appoint Sarfaraz as head coach so quickly, calling for greater clarity over coaching and management appointments.
