Buttler reached the milestone during England’s second T20 International against Sri Lanka in Cardiff. He crossed the 15,000-run mark by taking a single off Eshan Malinga, overtaking former West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard to become the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket.
Buttler has scored these runs in 528 matches at an average of 35.46 and a strike rate of 147.46, including nine centuries and 107 half-centuries. Kieron Pollard has scored 14,999 runs in 754 matches. England’s Alex Hales is third with 14,581 runs in 537 matches, followed by West Indies legend Chris Gayle with 14,562 runs in 463 matches.
Australia’s David Warner is fifth with 14,284 runs in 439 matches.
