The team said it has taken legal steps over the alleged unauthorised use and is seeking damages estimated at Rs7,000 crore. The statement stressed that an individual's name, image or likeness should not be used for commercial purposes without obtaining the person's permission.
Rautela's team said the legal action is aimed at protecting the actress's identity and personal rights amid growing concerns over the use of artificial intelligence to create or reproduce digital content involving public figures. The issue has also drawn attention from other Bollywood personalities.
Actor Salman Khan recently raised concerns about the unauthorised use of people's images and voices through AI during an episode of Bigg Boss 20. Khan criticised the use of AI-generated videos and voice dubbing without consent, saying the rapid advancement of the technology had become a serious concern.
