Robert Pattinson reveals his favourite meme of himself and admits he still doesn’t get it

“There’s one from a fitting from Good Time, which I still to this day do not understand,” Pattinson said. He added that the meme makes him feel “very, like, boomer” because he does not understand the joke behind it.

The photograph, commonly referred to online as “tracksuit Robert Pattinson”, was originally posted by Good Time director Josh Safdie in 2017. It became a viral meme several years later after users began adding captions to the image, including jokes about a boyfriend arriving at someone’s house and a cousin being asked to fetch folding chairs from a garage.

Pattinson remains puzzled by the image's popularity. During the interview, he compared his confusion over the meme to newer internet trends, saying he does not understand why something where “nothing is happening” can become such a major online phenomenon.

The actor previously discussed the same image during a 2026 Vogue interview with Zendaya. When asked about a viral meme or conspiracy theory involving himself, Pattinson brought up the photograph and described it as a bizarre example of how something can unexpectedly become an internet phenomenon.

Pattinson's meme status has also become part of the promotion for Primetime, in which he plays To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen. Director Lance Oppenheim 's own promotional material has already generated memes, continuing the actor's long-running relationship with internet culture.
