US issues fresh Iran-related sanctions as war marks six months

The Trump administration plans to impose limits on an Egyptian bank for doing business with Tehran and revoke US financial access to Banque Misr’s branches in the United Arab Emirates, a US official. The Financial Times earlier reported the forthcoming action.

The official said the proposed rule, if finalized, would revoke Banque Misr UAE's correspondent banking access to US financial institutions. Treasury officials separately issued sanctions targeting one entity based in Hong Kong and one person linked to Iran's Bank Melli, the Department of Treasury's website.
Iran has urged other nations not to join new US sanctions.
