IISLAMABAD —Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during which they reviewed bilateral relations and regional issues of mutual interest., the two foreign ministers reiterated their shared position on the Palestine issue and supported a joint statement issued by eight Arab and Islamic countries.
The statement welcomed the United Kingdom’s decision to ban imports from illegal Israeli settlements and impose restrictions on services linked to those settlements. The two leaders also supported a joint statement by the United Kingdom and other European countries regarding the two-state solution.
During the conversation, the two sides also stressed the importance of continuing close consultations on regional issues under the regional four-country forum, R4, with Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Ishaq Dar and Hakan Fidan also agreed to meet in New York on the sidelines of the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.
