Mckenna Grace channels Lucy Gray Baird in archival Gucci for ‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ photocall

The nature-inspired details also connected with Sunrise on the Reaping, which features its own symbolism drawn from the natural world and the mockingjay.

Grace, who plays Maysilee Donner in the upcoming prequel, has been embracing the franchise’s fashion legacy throughout the film’s promotional tour. Working with stylist Molly Dickson, the actress has worn a series of outfits referencing characters, costumes and symbols from the Hunger Games films.

Her latest look also carried an unexpected connection to her co-star Elle Fanning. Fanning previously wore the same Gucci Fall 2016 gown for a 2016 W Magazine editorial, although she did not wear it on the red carpet.

The similar bird-embroidered Gucci Spring 2016 dress she wore to the 2015 Trumbo premiere had initially prompted the fashion comparison.
