Dar stressed the importance of ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies and the safe passage of commercial vessels, noting that disruptions to maritime traffic could affect developing countries and global supply chains.
The deputy prime minister also emphasised that dialogue and diplomacy were the only viable means of ensuring peace and stability in the region., the two sides agreed to maintain close coordination and cooperation. Dar and Araghchi also agreed to meet in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
