    Quick Read

Pakistan International Airlines will begin operating daily flights to London from Oct 27, increasing its weekly services to the British capital from four to seven, the national carrier said on Wednesd…

Under the revised schedule, PIA will operate five weekly flights between Islamabad and London and two between Lahore and London, expanding direct air links on one of Pakistan’s important international routes. The increased London frequency comes as PIA seeks to rebuild its international network and capitalize on high-demand routes serving overseas Pakistani communities.

Britain is home to a large Pakistani diaspora, creating substantial demand for travel between the two countries. PIA currently operates direct services to London from Islamabad and Lahore, with its Heathrow operations running from Terminal 4 since March.

“The capacity expansion reflects strong passenger demand and growing confidence in the airline’s international services, ensuring seamless, direct connectivity between Pakistan and the UK,” a PIA spokesperson said in a statement.

The expansion will raise PIA’s London frequency by 75 percent from its current four flights a week and means the airline will offer at least one service to the British capital every day, split between departures from Islamabad and Lahore. PIA’s UK operations have particular significance after years of restrictions on the carrier’s access to European and British airspace.

The airline resumed direct flights to Britain in 2025 after UK authorities lifted restrictions imposed following a 2020 licensing scandal involving Pakistani pilots. The carrier subsequently expanded its British network, including direct Lahore-London services from March 2026.

PIA’s website currently lists London operations from both Islamabad and Lahore.
