PTI Punjab leaders seek postponement of Sept 27 long march

During the meeting, the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly and other Punjab members reportedly called for postponing the September 27 protest, arguing that preparations for the planned mobilisation were not sufficient. The Punjab leaders also expressed reservations over the way the long march had been announced, sources said.

They complained that party members from Punjab had not been consulted before the announcement. They further noted that Punjab representatives were not given an opportunity to present their views during an earlier PTI meeting in Peshawar., the participants discussed the organisational arrangements required for the proposed long march and raised concerns about the party’s readiness to mobilise supporters across Punjab.

PTI Punjab spokesperson Dr Ali Imran confirmed that parliamentarians had raised concerns over the lack of consultation. He said ticket holders from Punjab had been summoned to discuss the proposed September 27 programme and take the plan forward.

The meeting comes as the PTI seeks to finalise its strategy and preparations for the planned long march, with differences emerging among some Punjab members over the timing and level of preparedness.
