Last month, French Consul General in Karachi Alexis, speaking at an event held to mark France’s National Day, said the French government had decided to close the Consul General’s office in Karachi for budgetary reasons. The closure marks the end of France’s consular presence in Karachi, with consular services expected to be handled through other French diplomatic channels.
