LLAHORE —The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned three national cricketers, including Imam-ul-Haq and Muhammad Rizwan, for questioning over information obtained from their mobile phones., the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had taken custody of the cricketers’ mobile phones and handed them over to the relevant authorities.
The NCCIA has now issued notices to the players and summoned them for questioning. Sources said notices have been issued to Imam-ul-Haq and Muhammad Rizwan, while another cricketer has also received a notice from the NCCIA., the agency will investigate information obtained from the players’ mobile phones.
The PCB has so far not provided any reason for taking custody of the cricketers’ mobile phones. The development comes after Pakistan suffered heavy defeats in the first two Tests of the ongoing series against England.

Following the Lord’s Test, the PCB took action on an emergency basis and removed seven players and coaches from the team. The seven players released by the PCB included Muhammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Awais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad.
Head coach Sarfraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also released from their positions. The PCB has separately confirmed that an internal disciplinary inquiry is underway concerning reports related to discipline and conduct, while reports have also emerged that players’ mobile phone data was obtained as part of the investigation.
