    IISLAMABAD A 20-member special committee has been formed to recommend reforms at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. of Health, the committee includes prominent health experts from both the public and private sectors.

    The special committee will review the administrative affairs of PIMS and submit recommendations on the management and functioning of the hospital. Sources said the PIMS Reform Committee will present its report to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who will take a final decision regarding the hospital in light of the committee’s recommendations.

    It has also been decided to establish a Board of Governors to oversee the affairs of PIMS. The board will include individuals from different walks of life. The development comes after 14 newborn babies were tragically killed in a fire at PIMS on August 26.
