    The areas of Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar, Shigar, Gilgit, Rondo, Diamer, Astore, Skardu, Ganchhe, Kharmang and Neelum Valley have been declared sensitive. Flash floods and landslides have also been reported in Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Buner and adjacent mountainous areas.

    The NDMA has directed relevant agencies to continuously monitor sensitive glaciers, lakes, rivers, and streams. NEOC has also issued an alert of heavy and torrential rains with thunderstorms for Pothohar and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Heavy rains are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Murree, Galiat and adjacent areas from September 2 to 5.

    Heavy rains have also been predicted in Dir, Swat, Buner, Malakand, Shangla, Battagram, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan and Peshawar. Heavy rains are causing flash floods in urban areas, while there is a risk of flooding and landslides in mountainous areas.

    The NDMA has directed citizens to stay away from low-lying areas, streams, rain gutters and river banks and to avoid unnecessary travel. The public has also been instructed not to cross floodwaters, fast flowing water, submerged roads and bridges on foot or by vehicle.

    The authority has directed the local administration to move necessary resources to sensitive areas in advance, ensure safe evacuation arrangements, and ensure timely safety measures.
