IISLAMABAD —Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has stressed the need for timely delivery of justice and called on all institutions to perform their responsibilities effectively.
CHIEF JUSTICE OF PAKISTAN YAHYA AFRIDI said while addressing a ceremony that young judges should ensure the delivery of justice in the best possible manner, adding that district courts were the backbone of the justice system. He said coordination between district courts and high courts would have to be further strengthened.
He asked district courts to send a list of facilities required for the provision of justice. He also said the requirements of the judiciary would be fulfilled for a comprehensive justice system across the country.

He said reforms had been introduced in the judicial code of conduct and urged judicial officials to perform their duties with honesty. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi said courts were being shifted to solar energy systems, while the judiciary would be provided with the best internet facilities.
He added that e-libraries would also be made available in courts. He said work was underway on basic facilities in all tehsils and districts of Balochistan. He added that work was also in progress to provide facilitation centres for women and children.
The chief justice said all facilities, including solar power, were available in Tehsil Nagarparkar of Tharparkar.
