The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has also started publishing daily petroleum prices on its website as part of efforts to improve transparency and enable international oil price fluctuations to be passed on to consumers more quickly.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily prices are calculated using a seven-day average of international market prices, in line with international practice. The latest adjustment comes as petrol prices remain a key factor affecting transportation and household costs, while diesel prices have a significant impact on freight and other economic activities.
