Britain has previously condemned Houthi threats against Saudi Arabia as well as reported plans to impose a naval blockade. The Foreign Office said the Houthis bear responsibility for the current crisis and stressed that their attacks are unacceptable.

The UK said the attacks threaten regional security and freedom of navigation, calling on the Houthis to immediately halt their attacks and take steps to de-escalate tensions. Britain also reiterated its support for the right of Saudi Arabia and Yemen to protect their security and sovereignty.

The statement comes amid continuing regional tensions, with international concerns growing over attacks on critical infrastructure and threats to maritime security. London urged an end to actions that could further destabilise the region and put civilians at greater risk.
