Over 76k fail SSC-I exams

As many as 45,724 candidates were declared successful, while 76,015 failed. Students who failed or had compartment subjects have also been promoted to the second year and will take the annual examination for their compartment subjects along with the examination.

The overall pass percentage stood at 37.56 per cent, while 76,015 candidates remained unsuccessful. Moreover, 2,354 candidates were absent from the examination, while 337 admission forms were cancelled for various reasons.

Chairman BISE Rawalpindi Professor Dr Iqbal Mahmood said that in line with the chief minister's vision, transparency, merit and the use of modern technology were being ensured in the examination system. The board system had been fully digitised and the "cheating mafia" had also been eliminated.

He said transparency and merit were given top priority at all stages of result preparation and there was no room for any kind of irregularity. He said effective measures were being taken to improve the education system and introduce reforms in examination matters under the special interest and guidance of Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.

While congratulating successful candidates, he said their achievement was the result of their hard work, dedication and consistency. He advised unsuccessful candidates not to lose heart but to overcome their weaknesses and try to achieve success in future examinations with greater effort, determination and consistency.

The board chairman also appreciated the performance of officers and employees and said that from the conduct of the annual Class 9 examination 2026 to preparation and announcement of the results, all relevant officers and employees of the board had worked day and night with great responsibility, honesty and professional expertise.
